PCL has engaged with local organisations, colleges, and iwi to put a foot forward in getting local tangata into the business, and this has seen some great achievements throughout the years, from an employee who had not worked for 19 years and did so for PCL for 7 years, to local college students that have now stepped into leadership roles. Throughout the years we have sponsored local community groups, sports teams, and carried out work on a volunteer basis.
We will continue to try and aim sponsorship in areas where we have created relationships and understand where the need might be.

Our training and development programs are designed to equip team members with the skills, knowledge, and tools they need to thrive in their roles and advance their careers.
The use of providers to help our people achieve their goals such as civil engineering, project management, drainage ticket, leadership, and role specific training, we do try and think out of the box, understanding that most of our people are practical people.
