Hood Aerodrome Runway – Masterton

Head Contractor Siteworx were initially engaged for runway and taxiway widenings with micro surfacing to take place.

Upon commencement a variation was issued to replace the treatment with Polymer modified single coat seal and 55mm thick Hi-mod asphalt.

PCL were engaged to complete this in a short timeframe with over 43,000m2 of surface area to runway specification.

Prior to commencement PCL completed profile milling to design height, installed over 400 tonne of level correcting asphalt a preparation to the site under variation order to ensure a compliant pavement platform prior to resurfacing.

Excess of 7,000 tonne of material was installed by PCL over the project duration without a single tonne being removed for non-compliance.
